This journal

Hi folks!

This is my digital learning personal diary. As such, is not really intended for you to read, but if you do, you might be asking yourself: what this is for?

When I learn something new, I like to do it via active recall, or the Feynman Technique:

The Feynman Learning Technique: pick a topic to learn, write about it as if explaining to someone, see where you have gaps, simplify your language and add analogies, then repeat until there are no gaps left

I already use a analog notebook to take notes and sketch while a read something new. When something is not clear to me, I try to draw it out. Nowadays and with LLMs, I can ask the bot to create interactive visualisations based on my drawings. How cool is that?

I am sharing this to keep me accountable and track my learning progress. I hope that going back to my own, structured notes would help me refresh my memory in the future. I chose this format because I was a teenager in the 2010’s, and I am a bit nostalgic of the personal blog era. While this is not quite the same, this is my way to feel cool online again.

Thank you for reading so far!

P.S. disclosure: I am using VLMs to help me understand and visualise what I learn. Everything else is my own writing, without spell/grammar-checking as a non-native English speaker. 💖
